Community Reinvestment Fund, USA to receive one of the maximum Financial Assistance grants awarded by the Department of Treasury CDFI Fund

Award will help increase CRF lending in low-income and economically distressed communities.

MINNEAPOLIS - September 25, 2013 - Community Reinvestment Fund, USA (CRF), a Minneapolis-based national nonprofit and Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), has been awarded a $1.347 million Financial Assistance (FA) grant from the U.S. Department of the Treasury CDFI Fund. The award will help CRF deliver much-needed financing to small businesses in underserved communities, creating jobs and strengthening neighborhoods.

"The fiscal year 2013 round of the CDFI Program provides more awards than any other round in the CDFI Fund's history," said CDFI Fund Director Donna J. Gambrell. "By expanding the reach and impact of this program to more organizations, the CDFI Fund is supporting more economic development efforts than ever before to bring new life to struggling communities."

CRF's mission is to improve the lives of disadvantaged people and strengthen distressed communities through innovative finance. One of only 14 national non-bank SBA 7(a) lenders, CRF is dedicated to creating positive impact in America's underserved communities by helping small businesses access the financing they need to grow and create jobs.
