Accounting Manager

About the Position

As the Accounting Manager at Community Reinvestment Fund (CRF), you will bring your experience and detail-oriented mindset to be a critical leader of a small and nimble team. You will use your accounting expertise and experience to work through our annual audit and tax cycle; work with the Controller and CFO on the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting; provide leadership and guidance to your direct reports; and be able to review and provide interpretations related to financial statements for multiple entities and model impact to ongoing financial results.

The position will report to the Controller and will work closely with the Controller, CFO, and the entire Finance department. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will work and connect cross-departmentally with all departments in the organization.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage a team of direct reports
  • Manage all accounting functions for CRF and related entities
  • Develop and maintain an internal control structure appropriate for business needs
  • Assist with the annual audit and tax preparation/execution for CRF
  • Partner with the Controller and Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis on the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Loan Servicing and Portfolio Management
  • Stay up-to-date with industry and regulatory changes and best practices

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or related field), or equivalent work experience
  • 5-10 years relevant experience in the financial or banking industry
  • Experience leading a team as a manager or supervisor
  • Able to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to streamline processes
  • Strong background in accounting principles and ability to read and review financial statements and the flow of information.
  • Adaptable – CRF is a very innovative organization and the nature of the work we do is ever evolving
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other developers, stakeholders, and partners

Key Competencies & Preferences

  • Master’s degree or CPA

$85,000 to $100,000 Annually (exempt)
