Financial Analyst

Department: Finance

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Reports to: VP of Finance

Position Summary

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for the modeling and analysis of the financial position of CRF and its affiliates. The Financial Analyst will provide a wide range of modeling, analysis and reporting to manage the financial risks, develop pricing strategies, valuation methodologies and results. The position works closely with the management team to provide tools and analysis to effectively plan, forecast and monitor financial results. The position develops efficient and accurate processes to provide external and internal reporting in compliance with covenants, regulatory and board policy.

Desired Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Two to six years of experience in the financial industry as an analyst or a combination of education and experience providing the equivalent knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex accounting concepts to individuals across the organization
  • CFA or CFA candidate required
  • Must be proficient in Excel and able to adopt and leverage new technologies as required

Essential Duties

Modeling and Analytics

The position will be responsible for developing and maintaining the financial models to manage financial risk, raise, price, and deploy capital.

  • Asset Liability Management – measure and monitor the liquidity and interest rate risk associated with the funding structure of the business
  • Pricing models – develop pricing models for products and services
  • Balance sheet – develop and assist in creating funding models, including securitization structures, model financial risks retained on balance sheet, including servicing valuations and other retained interests

Strategic Finance, Forecasting and Planning

The position will be responsible for strategic financial planning and forecasting

  • Annual planning process – manage the annual planning process in conjunction with the CFO and VP of Finance
  • Financial forecasting – responsible for financial forecast process, analysis and reporting. Focus on strategic analysis of product profitability, capital deployment and risks
  • Capital planning – working with VP of Finance, analyze and model capital plans and forecasts

Reporting

The position will assist with internal and external management-type reporting

  • Program and Product specific reporting
  • Assist with Board reporting
  • Develop and maintain effective, professional working relationships with internal and external partners including all CRF staff, banking personnel, trustee personnel, auditing firm’s external information providers

Technology

  • Fully deploy and utilize CRF’s information technology systems

Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Solicitation and engagement with the Board of Trustees

Compliance

This position will be responsible for the overall compliance requirements of the Finance department. Compliance requirements include adherence to applicable laws, regulations, obligations, and corporate policies. Each business line and shared service is responsible for documenting, monitoring, and reporting compliance requirements related internal controls that provide reasonable assurance regarding the achievement of objectives.
