Loan Boarding Specialist

Department: Loan Servicing

Reports to: Loan Servicing Manager

Position Summary

CRF Loan Boarding Specialist performs and continuously improves the Loan Servicing process, primarily focusing on the task of boarding and modifying Contract Loan Servicing (CLS) loans for investors within stated Service Level Agreement (SLA) guidelines and providing back-up as needed to the SBA Specialist. The position requires a high level of competencies and characteristics, including multi-tasking, working independently and collaboratively, having a positive attitude, and problem solving.

Essential Duties

Loan Boarding and Loan Modifications (75%)

  • Act as primary in regards to loan boarding and processing loan maintenance and modifications of the CLS portfolio accurately and within the stated SLA guidelines
  • Loan Boarding/Maintenance duties include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Process loan Boarding and maintenance in Nortridge Lending System (NLS)
      • Review documents prior to boarding for completeness and accuracy, reaching out to the investor if there are any missing items or for corrections as needed
      • Board loans manually or through automatic upload (when applicable) for CLS clients accurately and within stated SLA guidelines
      • Process loan maintenance and modification, allonge, restructure, and amendment requests accurately and within the stated SLA guidelines
      • Process loan updates to loans as stated in the loan documents or as requested by the CLS client. Updates may include, but are not limited to maturity dates, changes to terms, interest rates, etc.
      • Process loan amortizations and accompanying payment updates upon request by CLS client, Loan Servicing Manager, Enterprise Risk Management staff, or as directed in the loan documentation
    • Process Collateral Releases (Mortgage Satisfactions, etc) for CLS Clients

Customer Service (15%)

  • Provide excellent Customer Service to internal and external customer requests received over the phone, email, fax, or in-person following stated Service Level Agreements (SLA)
  • Process, review and approve Contract Loan Servicing loan payoff requests for commercial and consumer loans

Relationship Management (5%)

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers and departments.
  • Ensure response times to inquiries or correction requests are completed within the allotted timeframe stated in the SLA

Miscellaneous Duties (5%)

  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Compliance
This position will be responsible for working within the guidelines of the compliance requirements that pertain to the Loan Servicing department. The Loan Servicing department is responsible for monitoring and reporting on compliance objectives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Three to five years of loan servicing experience or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. Proven experience with loan boarding, loan review, and customer service is highly desirable.

General Computer Literacy
Be familiar with and a willingness to work with computer technology. Have an understanding of computer hardware, the abilities and limitations of computer software packages and how to work within those limits. Experience with the following software: Microsoft Office, Word and Excel; and a nationally known loan servicing software.
