Loan Collateral Specialist

Position Summary

CRF Loan Collateral Specialist is primarily responsible for administering the collateral related activities for Commercial Real Estate/Corporate/Small Business loans from new loan thru payoff. Managing the loan collateral pledged for the securitization of all CRF loans to include, SBA 7(a), Capital Markets, and CRF Balance Sheet lending as well as Contract Loan Servicing (CLS) Clients. The position requires a high level of competencies and characteristics, including multi-tasking, working independently and collaboratively, having a positive attitude, and problem solving.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs review of loan and collateral documents and loan packages to ensure CRF’s security interest and adherence to established policies and procedures
  • Review tracking item reports and attorney accounts within CT Liens to ensure that all new UCC collateral filings in the appropriate portfolio are complete within CT Liens for ongoing monitoring. Perform research, work with Loan Servicing, and create historical filings as needed
  • Review CT Liens “Pending Expirations” queue, perform research as needed and process the continuations of expiring UCC filings per the department guidelines
  • Process UCC terminations or archive filing in CT Liens upon payoff of a loan with filed UCCs or a request to release UCC collateral
  • Pull system generated Paid Loan reports monthly. Retrieve/order paid loan files (collateral and servicing)
  • Upon payoff of loans with real estate collateral, send the appropriate loan documentation to the attorney to prepare the satisfaction of mortgage/release of lien. Facilitate the execution of the release documents and ensure receipt of recorded documentation
  • Prepare all paid loan files for storage with the correct description and record retention
  • Works with lending staff in resolving discrepancies in collateral documentation
  • Perfects liens for moveable and immoveable collateral securing loans
  • File, maintain, and retrieve titles in secured location under proper filing system, both electronic and hard copy
  • Monitors hazard and flood insurance on designated accounts
  • Ensures that loans maintain proper hazard/flood/misc insurance coverage at all times during the duration of the loan
  • Process Returned Statements and update proper coding on the system

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Three to five years of loan servicing or loan collateral experience or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. Proven experience with loan review and customer service is highly desirable.

General Computer Literacy
Be familiar with and a willingness to work with computer technology. Understand computer hardware, the abilities, and limitations of computer software packages and how to work within those limits. Experience with the following software: Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel; and a nationally known loan servicing software. Experience with Nortridge Loan System is desired but not required.
