Loan Fund Analyst

Department: Operations Center

Location: May be fully remote

Reports to: VP Operations Program Management

Position Summary

A loan fund analyst oversees the day-to-day operations of pooled loan funds. Execution of back-office activities including fund accounting, financial reporting, net asset value calculation, capital calls, distributions, loan loss reserve allocation, and other functions in support of the overall program fund are the core responsibilities of the fund administrator position. This role also involves managing data, client reporting, and trade processes. As a Loan Fund Analyst, they work with the client support services manager and operations team.

The Loan Fund Analyst is required to integrate in-depth knowledge, financial analytics and modeling, with a solid understanding of financial services industry standards and practices. In addition, they will have an understanding of the wholistic lending approach of a Community Development Financial Institution (“CDFI”). The Loan Fund Analyst will collaborate with business partners on impact initiatives for small business product and services. The program funds will vary in structure from singular capital assets to multiple debt structures with complex waterfall distribution requirements.

This position may be fully remote and will require face to face staff and stakeholder interaction from time to time.

Essential Duties

  • Engage with multiple Originators within a particular program to ensure quality control for the sale/purchase of pooled loans
    • Review due diligence checklists
    • Cross reference loan purchase agreements
    • Review underwriting memos and notify Master Servicer of review findings
    • Submit payment requests to Paying Agents
  • Manage the review of loan documentation. Support loan-purchase problems. Escalate and resolve issues related thereto
  • Conduct Capital Calls of committed funds from debt financers. Record fund name, percentage of unfunded capital called for, payment details, and due dates.
  • Manage data, client reporting, and trade processes. Work with the client support services manager and the operations team.
  • Engage with Reporting & Analytics team
    • Create daily and monthly reports by fund as required by program agreement
    • Ensure all capital debt holders receive waterfall payment reports, and program performance and audit reports.
  • Manage the Loan Loss Reserve for each program, including allocation of payments from the reserve to the fund participants. Ensure the Loan Loss Reserve capitalization percentage is in line with the minimum program requirements.
  • Manage and monitor programs task and deliverables on daily basis, leveraging internal systems
  • Provide analysis related to pooled loan fund results, trends and future forecasts


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of financial services experience, banking, or other financial services operations experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of loan experience, capital asset finance, and debt fund general ledger accounting.
  • Strong business analytics skills, including the ability to interpret quantitative information
  • Personal qualities of detail orientation, ability to manage multiple priorities, strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and expertise with fund accounting platforms required.
  • Candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
