Story Overview

Brian Prairie started Kankakee, Ill.-based Ravenspring Creative in 2012 with a mission to tell stories with well-crafted photography, attention-grabbing videos and clever animations. For the past several years, Ravenspring has grown to include two employees, providing more depth to tackle more work.

When the COVID-19 pandemic forced Illinois businesses to close, Prairie knew he had to consider the immediate impact on client work and, subsequently, his employees. While there was work in the pipeline, all shoots had been put on hold. When Prairie told his employees that the company would have to pause and recalibrate, there was uncertainty and unease.

After receiving a PPP loan, Ravenspring was able to keep their dedicated team members. Since Ravenspring works with several community-based businesses and nonprofits, the company’s PPP loan will ensure these organizations and entrepreneurs have an opportunity to tell their story.

Now that payroll and operations have been stabilized, Ravenspring is making up for lost time by helping clients capture their own visual stories – using remote resources – to help advance missions and business goals for both their clients and the company itself.
