About the Position
Community Reinvestment Fund (CRF) is seeking a Business Lending Support Specialist to join our Small Business Lending team. In this role, you will provide critical support in the origination of CRF loan products, helping ensure an efficient process and excellent client experience. This position involves frequent client interaction, accurate loan data management, and coordination with internal teams to prepare high-quality loan packages for underwriting.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Enter and manage loan data in CRM and SPARK systems from initial pre-screening through underwriting working closely with our Lending and Credit staff.
- Support clients through the loan application process, including assisting with SPARK input and resolving inquiries.
- Collect, review, and prepare documentation needed for underwriting.
- Order and review third-party reports such as appraisals, valuations, property reports, and environmental assessments.
- Draft and send letters of interest, calculate loan fees and costs, and coordinate required compliance checks (GIACT, CAIVRS, SAM, tax transcripts, etc.).
- Collaborate with sales and credit teams to complete accurate loan submission packages and ensure timely delivery to underwriting.
- Provide exceptional customer service and assist in achieving sales revenue goals.
About You
- 3 – 5 years of experience in banking and loan processing
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field or equivalent work experience
- Excellent interpersonal/communication and organizational skills
- A proven track record of managing various customer situations and issues that may occur during the sales process
- Ability to handle high volume workload; ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Ability to develop a rapport quickly with small business customers via telephone
- Possesses strong and timely follow up skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work with both technical and non-technical individuals
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude; must be enthusiastic, highly motivated, achiever, disciplined and dependable
- Ability to work independently
Key Competencies & Preferences
- Previous experience working in Loan Departments and providing support to Lenders strongly desired
- Understanding of non-profit, community development, and/or Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI) landscape
- Experience working in a multi-locational organization
