Community Reinvestment Fund, USA (CRF), is pleased to announce the election of Renay Dossman and Ja’Net Defell to its Board of Trustees.
Renay Dossman, MA, is the President and CEO of Neighborhood Development Center (NDC), where she leads efforts to foster economic growth and empowerment in underserved communities. With a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from St. Mary’s University, Renay brings extensive leadership experience in community development. She is also the co-founder of Affirmation House, a nonprofit providing housing and support services to unhoused men. In addition, Renay serves on the Destination Northside Committee, GroundBreak Coalition, and the Anti-Racism and Economic Justice (AREJ) Trust. She holds board positions with Finnovation Lab, Build from Within Alliance, Constellation Fund, and the MN CDFI Coalition.
Ja’Net Defell is the President and CEO of Community Desk Chicago (The Desk), an organization she launched in March 2023 to empower under-resourced communities by addressing systemic power imbalances. Under her leadership, The Desk introduced the $3M Neighborhood Developers Initiative, supporting real estate development in Chicago’s Englewood, South Shore, and Humboldt Park communities. Ja’Net also helped establish Community Investment Vehicles (CIVs), promoting shared commercial ownership models. With over 20 years of experience in urban planning, management consulting, and real estate development, Ja’Net brings a wealth of expertise to CRF’s board.
