Congratulations to Frank Altman, co-founder and CEO of Community Reinvestment Fund, USA (CRF), for being named a 2019 MN Progress Honoree by Finance & Commerce!
30 Years of Leadership – and Just Getting Started
Frank co-founded CRF during the economic crisis of the 1980s to help solve the uncertain community development funding landscape of the time. He spearheaded the creation of a secondary market for community development loans, despite many saying it was impossible.
But Frank didn’t stop there. Over the next three decades, he galvanized CRF to continue to innovate new financial tools and products to support communities and people facing economic challenges. He is particularly proud of CRF’s role in helping develop the Federal New Markets Tax Credit in 2000. This program has helped to spark transformational change in communities like Minneapolis’ Phillips neighborhood.
As for what’s next? Frank says that he wants to make sure CRF is here as long as it’s needed.
Congratulations, Frank! We’re proud to have you at the helm of CRF!
